Movie Maker vs Photostory

We have created movies using two different programs now. We used Microsoft Movie Maker 2 in computer class and each student has created movies using Photostory 3 in Social Studies class. At this point students should be proficient users of both.
Comment on your experience using each. Pay particular attention to their similarities and differences. Compare and contrast the two and describe which program you think would be better to use in certain situations. Some of you have used Audacity too, so you may include information on its use also. Your response should be a thoughtful, organized parapgraph.

I prefer windows moviemaker over photo story because it is very simple. It gives you step by step directions to make your movie. It even tells you how to save it correctly so that when it comes time to present to the class it is a movie file instead of a photo story file and you cannot play it on most computers and you teacher would get mad:(

I think Movie Maker and Photostory are very different but yet they pretty much allow you to complete the same thing. One thing I noticed was that Movie Maker allows you to put movies into the overall movie. That is something that Photostory cannot do. Since I first started to use Photostory I think it it a little easier to use and get started with, but now that I have played around with Movie Maker I like that program too. But I do think it is easier to upload things in to your Movie Maker file. For example, uploading your own narration is a lot easier and you can just do it right from Movie Maker. Since I have used both, I now will have an option in the future!

I am more comfortable with photostory which is why I prefer photostory for all my projects. I do prefer the sound system on movie maker, because you cna easily edit where and how long you want the sound- Austin

I would have rather used photostory because I am more familiar with it. But now that I have used Movie Maker I think that it is more useful than photostory and you can do more overall activities with it. Such as putting pictures as well as videos into the complete movie which is something that photostory cannot do. Also I like the fact that you can also put on music and it has a better sound than photostory. But after computer class, I am now going to use MovieMaker from now on!:)

In 8th grade I've used both movie maker and photostory a lot. They're both fun to use because they're cool transitions and effects to use and you can even add music or record your own voice. But in my opinion, I think that movie maker is better because it almost all of the things photostory has, but more. Movie maker has better effects, you can add cool titles and credits, and you can also include a video, not just photos. I'm more comfortable with using movie maker and I think it's much more easier than photostory.

In my 8th grade year I have used both movie maker and photostory. Movie maker and photostory are similiar and different in many different ways. These two things are similiar because in the end they both make a movie. I believe though, that photostory is more to make a point and movie maker is more fun. I personally believe that movie maker is better because you can make the slide transisions so much smoother in movie maker rather than photostory. Movie maker also has better and a lot more transitions to decide from. What isn't the greatest about movie maker compared to photostory is that you don't have options to import a pictures but then change it to look negative. That is what photostory has that movie maker doesn't. Both of these sights were enjoying and great to learn about.

I like both photostory and windows movie maker but if i were to choose i would say movie maker because you can do more things like put in videos and the transitions are better. It is also easy to understand.
